Post PD prop question
Is the prop nut suppossed to be against the prop or should there be a gap? There is about a quarter inch gap between the prop and prop nut on my 36PD.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, the motor is new with only 55hrs on it. How tight should I put the nut against the prop? Should I just put it up against the prop or do I need to put it pretty tight against the prop?

When ever you wrench down on it, keep in mind that you may have to remove that nut and the wheel one day. so like mud said "SNUG".

da prop cannot back off..... da nut serves more as a thread protector than anything else. u can snug it up against da prop if u wish...... or u can leave it just like it is. it don't matter.

I can tell everyone reading this to never, NEVER, ever, EVER put the bushing seated in the prop and screw it on. Talk about a major cluster. Be sure and slide the bushing up the prop shaft and then screw the prop on until it meets the bushing. Otherwise, you will need a tow eventually when the prop seizes against the lower unit. DON'T ASK!
