 mud buddy trim help
Hey guys I bought an 08 mud buddy 35 and the trim was acting weak on it and then stopped working all togather. The motor would run but not lift motor. I pulled it out and it looks like the ram is busted in there cause I can move that ram all over the place and there is fluid that leaked out the bottom. It says thompson on it but no part number. Is there any chance I can rebuild this or do I have to buy a whole new unit? And if so how much are they and where do I get one. Thanks for any help

 Re: mud buddy trim help
thompson units are pretty good about their seals failing/rotting out. i'm on my second one. i did prolong my first one, however, by breaking it down and giving all moving parts a good cleaning. Last time i bought one they were around $250. easy to change

 Re: mud buddy trim help
Hey thanks for the advice. The motor is good on mine i think. Does anybody have a unit that the motor went bad on but the rest of it like the ram and the seals are good on it. I know most guys just throw the old ones away but just giving it a shot.

 Re: mud buddy trim help
I have a mercury trim I could sell. You'd probably still have to buy the latest mount but you'd still come out cheaper. Or you could try & fab/rig something up yourself- we've done this too before, I'm just not sure it's worth the time.

 Re: mud buddy trim help
Mud Buddy offers a one year warranty on the Thompson trims. I'm on #3 with only the first one I ordered coming out of pocket. As soon as I get my motor decked out by PVT I'll be ordering the merc trim
