I bought a used 2005 27 PD last year. I had to put the extension on it to fit my boat. I got a local guy to put the extension on it and it seemed fine for a little while. Then there was a slow leak at the top of the lower unit. I got a "mud motor tech" down here to put a new seal in it, and it lasted about 5 hours and it started leaking again. Usually I would just have to change the fluid every 5 hours, but when I took it out yesterday to scout for gator season it poured out of there very quickly. Anyone had this problem? Does this sound like I need a new lower unit, or was it maybe a botched extension installation?

Disreguard my post. just got off the phone with pd. They said only way to fix it without seeing it is a new lower unit. It would cost me as much money in gas as the lower unit costs to get it to pd, so I ordered it.

How true my friend how true.

If I ran my business like some all I would get out of it was 58 more people in the soup line.

I keep trying to tell myself that the aftermarket guys, and MM manufactures are just young at it and will learn one day that no mater what it wrong the customer is always right!!!!!

I just try to help them all I can, but most of them are hot headed and don't listen to anybody ;) .....kind of like I was 10 yrs ago first starting off.
