 Problem.
The prop that is on my Scavenger sucks, it grasses up like a salad fork. Problem is, it's bore is exclusive to Scavenger Backwater, and I don't want another prop from them. I emailed Ron Hill Props, asked him if he could make me a weedless 9x6 with a smooth 3/4" bore instead of a threaded bore, with a 1/4" round key slot in it, and his response was a short "Unfortunately, we can't". 3 frigging words in a whole e-mail. No suggestions, nada. This is coming from someone who makes custom racing propellers and all kinds of odd stuff. Seems like the attention to the customers has gotten somewhat lost in the new big website with somebody else's name merged into his. Any suggestions? Buy a prop and drill it out myself perhaps? I'm a crafty bastard, I'll make one work somehow, this thing is embarrasing to ride in if you run into any grass.

 Re: Problem.
I'm thinking I can thread a short peice of threadbar through it, flush on the starting side and use this for a solid surface to drill the keyway through, with about a 1/4" drill bit, then back the threadbar out and drill the center bore out. Are Ron's props pretty good in the grass? Cause we have nothing but milfoil and super thick (for lack of knowing the real name) ****** hair, it's really dense stuff, like having a bunch of string wrapped around your prop. I'll check Hopkins out too.

 Re: Problem.
I wouldn't go to Ron Hill unless you want to wait, and wait, and wait some more for that prop.

 Re: Problem.
I think I may thread the spindle so I won't have to mod a prop. I got the dies. And i'm lucky to have pinched this P.O.S outta my Olady. I think the fact that it got a lawnmower out of the yard did more for her than the price.
