Post subject: | 4 blade prop |
Has anyone screwed around with a 4 blade prop? Any thoughts on advantages/disadvantages over a 2 blade? I'm building an entirely homemade surface drive out of crap I had sitting around and would prefer to make a prop to test it out instead of dropping a couple bills on one. I have some four blade roto-tiller blades about the right size and shape for the job. Didn't know if I should keep all 4 blades or amputate 2 of 'em. |

I'm no prop guy, but the few people who run 3 blades, say they work good in the water. In mud they not so good. I would thin a 4 blade will be a little worse. And hell it will probably be TOO much prop for the engine anyways. I say No-go. |
