I just put the third lower drive assembly on my HD Sport in less than a year (115 hours) from cracks.

I saw an hd up at watsons cracked like that....he said it was the third time on that particular motor....but he also said the dude that owned it aint easy on it.

So, if you read the majority of all threads related to the Sport V misfortunes and the misfortunes the customers have had mechanically, is this an accurate reflection?

I talked to a guy today and his buddy runs the boat side of a mb and excel dealer
And they ordered 8 sports and sold them they ordered 18 more and anyway two have come back with broke handles
One is the guy I work with the other hit a stump broke handle had 3 ppl one was a kid. boat was an excel and when handle broke stuck wide open throttle hit a tree and totaled boat all brand new and about threw them all out the boat! Dealership canceled other motors and waiting on what mb is gonna do customer is made but totally pissed he ab killed his son... Been two weeks mb has done nothing
Dealership in not gonna sell anymore bc of afraid of getting sued

I hope this guys family is ok. I would strongly suggest to all mud motor operators to wear a lanyard to prevent stuff like this. Accidents happen regardless of the maker etc.

Another guy I'm friends with buddy bought one has had no issue has 2 hrs on it I tried to warn them but they won't listen to me

My only real issue w this thread is the talk of life in limb when this situation could and should have been prevented.

If the handle broke or a handle breaks.. Or a clutch screws up or whatever... A lanyard there is to kill it...

Saying any properly used motor is a threat to someone's life is a stretch and to me is taking it too far.

Maybe I misread some of what was posted..
