 Gen III PD Props
Has anyone played with some new props for these motors yet? Seems like us with smaller/lighter boats could get more out of our rig with a bigger prop. My rig runs its best at 45-4600 rpms empty and don't drop off much at all with a 3-4 man load. When I mod my motor I'll have to have more prop to do much

 Re: Gen III PD Props
I've been waiting for someone to try a regular old outboard prop for open water running. 13spline 7/8 shaft LH

 Re: Gen III PD Props
I found some chopper props that would really work for y'all needs problem is they are almost 400$ for a test prop I don't know many people with pockets that deep for a maybe
They left hand and have a variety of pitches.
If u wanna send me your prop I can pitch it up for ya and see how much more you'll gain .. I pitched an old gen 2. 3 blade to a 20 pitch for Mac and he could turn it well

 Re: Gen III PD Props
I have an 11" 3 blade I pitch up to a 20 and he can hit the revlimiter with it adding cup today see if that helps bind it a little

 Re: Gen III PD Props
Let me know how it runs. I know this one dont run very well speed wise. It looks to me about ~2mph slower as opposed to the GEN2 lower and prop with same mods....
I think for all around usage and how i use a boat i would like the new gear. It grew on me....The power to eat though float is unreal and i always seem to have a good load with me. Typically have 3-4 bowifishing and 2-3 hunting.
I think that gear with a little better engine. Or an engine that can turn 5000 safely would be a good combo.

Get you some of that! LA prop can make it happen......20p GD prop and still hitting the rev we need more cup!

 Re: Gen III PD Props
What's your rev limit? If you're telling me you are turning it 4700 then what's the ratio of the LU.
What speed btw?

 Re: Gen III PD Props
4700, 1.5 ratio, 20p prop, factoring in 10% slip which is conservative for a surface piercing propellor equates to 53.4 mph.

 Re: Gen III PD Props
2:1 ratio equates to around 40mph.

2:1 is what he has, and I believe that is an 11" prop

 Re: Gen III PD Props
Ok, so factoring in more slip puts him at 35-36mph.

 Re: Gen III PD Props
That puts him at 23% slip, a little more cup should do the trick.
