any marine grease will work fine as long as you don't blow out the seals when pumping it in and you do regular maintenance checking your shaft for water in the grease and changing when needed. I give mine several pumps of fresh grease every few hours of run time to make sure the grease is fresh and get any water out. This is especially important when it starts getting below freezing. |

I just put 15 hours on my GTR and changed the grease with the AMSOIL grease Gatortail provided. I'll continue to use AMSOIL because I use their products in everything I own. I am also going to change the oil at 20 hours using AMSOIL. |

I use #229 Shaeffer it's the same stuff we use on our wash plants, figure if it's good enough for something that is constantly exposed to water it should be good enough for something that is 99% sealed. |

Depends Is HP required? If so, Royal Purple beats all aforementioned brands. |

Whatever you can find cheapest, doesn't stay in there long enough to get broken down |

There was a thread on this a while back, but is Amsoil still REQUIRED in GTRs for them to honor the warranty? I think it still says so in their manual, but I thought someone mentioned they had switched what they ship with new motors. |
