Man I'm searching threads and can't find anything. Was wondering if anyone has tried to add cup to a prop. I'm not interested in how it performs in the mud. This would strickly be for open deep water runs. Trying to see if I can get a little more on top for some long runs. |

My experince the more pitch/cup you put the more top end you loose |

More pitch= better in mud = less top end speed Just had my prop reworked to build up and add little pitch. Lost top end but pulls like a tank. Vibration increased a bit too. Gonna have it reworked to take out some pitch to happy compromise. |

I re-cup them all the time and I also rebalance. They are great for getting the grunt and hole shot back, but they do lack on the top end a couple mph. |

I just la prop add cup and pitch to a damaged big blade, fast turn around. Prop looks great, haven't run it as blind is being built. |

Don't need anymore hole shots with this torque monster. Looking to give a little low end for some top. |

I've recupped outboard props with a 3 pound shop hammer-lay the blade over the ball of your trailer hitch. Rebalance by laying the prop hub down on a flat surface and measure the distance from each blade to the surface. Works surprisingly well on stainless and aluminum. Don't see why I can't do my long tail prop but haven't tried it yet. |

viewtopic.php?f=41&t=49758 theoretically adding heavy cup is like adding 1'' of pitch im about to send another one to baggy to get balanced and had heavy cup only! |

I recupped mine I welded around the edge and just kept building it up then just grinded and sanded it smooth. Just got to try to make it even on both side and balance it out. Mine worked great and didn't vibrate a bit and holds up good I've been running it for a while now and can't complain. |

adding pitch will not make it grab harder in the mud adding cup will like bayou boy said itll give u the low end grunt but youll loose a little on the top end dguidry i added alot of cup to yours thinking your mods would be enough to swing it ill take some out and rebalance it for u as soon as i get it send it with tony or ryan if u can |

U need to look into a different prop. A couple guys have had some open water props that were impressive on speed. Think chopper prop, not mm prop. |

They do not make them the guys were buying a chopper and broaching an outboard prop I think hill was selling them... Also I've been adding a lil pitch to some props that r a little worn and we've been having good results but for nodded motors never tried anything like that on a stocker. Also I've been noticing that the gtr 2 blade with light cupping is hard to turn even with a modded motor |

Got prop back from Baggy. Wanted to add 3" of pitch. When it arrived, the paper work said 15p but the prop has 16p on it. Can't get him till tomorrow to actually find out what's the deal. So I haven't mounted it yet to go run. |
