 Mud buddy w/out serck valve
I recently acquired a 23hp mud buddy sd and was wondering how to grease the shaft . I searched the forums(and internet) w/out any luck. I saw a vid on mb.c0m and there's a valve to pump grease into above the prop but there's no such valve on my shaft housing. Sorry if this is stupid but I'm new to these things.
And I called mb to ask them and got a busy signal every time. Couldn't find their email address on their contact page either
Thx guys!!!

Re: Mud buddy w/out serck valve
does it look like the grease "zerk" fitting is busted off? You said you saw video on the MB site with someone pumping grease into one "above the prop" - those little zerks can snap off pretty flush sometimes.

Nope no hole. The over flow Alan head screw is there but there's no hole or valve anywhere else on the shaft housing part

If my memory serves me right, I think you put a zerk where the Allen screw is and pump grease in it that way, but don't over do it.. If you need to know asap, try calling Boat Dr. They will be able to help..

Some of the old ones are like that. Call mudbuddy or boat dr and find out the procedure. It was posted on here a long time ago.

Re: Mud buddy w/out serck valve
U must remove the prop and prop seal cap (not what its called but u know what I mean) that way the grease will exit row threw the prop end.

Re: Mud buddy w/out serck valve
So take the bleeder valve off and put a temporary zerk valve in its spot, take off the prop and rear seal and pump it full, replace seal and prop and I'm good to go? Seems like a lot of work compared to the new style mbsd

Re: Mud buddy w/out serck valve
K so I talked to Micah over at mud buddy and he said to take off the prop and piece behind prop that is left hand threaded to expose seals and allow overflow. Then remove Alan screw bleeder cap and insert grease valve and pump grease in.
