I was wrong on the cam. Mike and I were talking last night about it. PD is using a 304 cam from Precision Cams.

Wow! How does a 17 pitch do in the mud? I would think to get that gain in open water, prolly had to give up a little bit of mud performance.....although, that is a big prop. What's the diameter on those Gen III 2 blades?

This boat goes through mud like it isn t there!!! I'll prove it to anyone anytime. But I have the gtr transome angle so it digs way deeper on my boat then say a prodrive boat . All good things better load carrying to! Come test drive it

If you think that 3 blade pulls in the mud you should try the 2 blade its a huge diffrence.

My experience with the Gen II running 3 vs 2 blades in the mud....on light boats, the 3 holds its own. On bigger/heavier boats, a person has to be a little more patient with the 3 to keep it from blowing out. For me, <3000 RPM's gets my big hull through thick stuff. The 2....bury it and let it eat!

You need the surface area of the 3 blade with the 2/1. 2 blade is going to push with a stock motor and not be enough with mods. That's my theory

I bet the prop u ran wasn't 17 pitch with cup either? I ran a mudbuddy on this boat before and this motor out does the mudbuddy in forward hands down. I had my mud buddy prop worked and it was good but the pro drive does better .

No...LOL...not at all! The 3 is the standard 27 HP blade...11 x 12 I think are the numbers. My 2 is a 12.5 x 12 with cup.

As of now an untouched 2 blade is doing 27 mph at 4750 with 3 men and a boat load of gear on a 1854 center console BB boat. I'll have a worked 3 blade from Baggy here shortly to try.

That was in deep water with a little head wind and not moving anything around in the boat to try for a better speed.

I have a dual 37 EFI Prodives on a 18/60. They came with the 3 blades and was wondering what I should do? I'm getting 32-33 mph all day but I'm all over the limiter like it's nothing even with it trimmed down a bit more than the sweet spot. What should I do add pitch add cup? They tried the new 2 blades on mine at the dealer they said it was getting 34-35 but was still all over the limiter fairly easy.

You could take two of the 2 blades to baggy and have him pitch them to 17, sharpen the leading edges, and add a little cup.

Save some money and get your 3 blade pitched to 17 and add cup

Good speeds on that dual rig. Tell baggy what it is doing and he will get your 3 blades rocking. He is very good at what he does

Post Re: ProDrive 2-Blade Gen 3 Prop
I got my boat back with Prodrive's E5 package added to my efi, plus new high flow prodrive muffler and air intake. I took it for a spin on Vermillion while I was in the area. Stupid to be out on the bay with a 20mph wind, but did it anyway since have faith in SBX .

I will post more after I test it more at home, but preliminary results are great. With two people and my heavy fishing / bowfishing lights load, I got from 25-28 mph. 25 mph was heading into the wind cutting across the bay. 28 was when tide was going out and running about 3" of water and out of the wind. Average was about 26-27, depending on wind, sbx higher sidewalls add more air drag them my last boat.

At these speeds I was rev limited @ 4600 and trimmed deeper then normal, so there should be more in the engine if I pitch it out a little.

These speeds are with a stock 3 blade, but I also have a new stock 2 blade. I will test boat at loaded conditions with both props and post results in engine thread, and then maybe send one or both props off for pitch and tuning.

Hole shot and engine response are way past expections. Trim it deep, open it up, and then before you can trim it up, your hauling ass on plane. Prior to these changes, with the same load I had hard time to get on step quickly. I will max it out with more people and load, and see what it will do.

Guys at prodrive do great work. I kinda just let them do whatever they want to my engine, so it's a leap of faith, but with it.

Post Re: ProDrive 2-Blade Gen 3 Prop
Tried the new two blade on my stock Pd gen3, on a Phowler extreme 1856 hull. The new two blade hooked up better out of the hole and all the way to the top end. Gained 1/2 mph in deep water and 1 mph in shallow water. In my testing and in my opinion the two blade is a better prop than the three blade.

When I talked to KP at PD about it he said he would guarantee it to hook up better and perform better in the mud and vegetation but not to expect great gains on the top end, which is exactly what I found in my testing on my boat. He did say they are still developing a speed prop for the gen3 if speed is your biggest concern.

My set up is for hunting with four people and a big spread of decoys, so this new two blade is the right prop for how I want my rig to perform.

So for the greenhorn about to order a new 37EFI to go on a 1/8" 1656 GoDevil hull is the standard 2 blade the prop to get? I don't want to buy 2 or 3 different props, just one good all around prop for pushing a 1 or 2 man load 90% of the time. We don't have any LA mud up here in N GA - mostly logs, hard bottom, stumps, ect..
