bearing behind lower seal on 08 PD
Lower unit oil looked like thick chocolate milk and it was way over full, so I ordered a new lower seal. Removed the lower seal today and just doing a little checking, I tried shaking the shaft and noticed that there was a small amount of movement at the bearing behind the seal. Not much, but you could tell that it was not solid. Is this a big problem or normal and if a problem, have any of you had it?
It had been setting for several days before I checked it, so not air.
I did change the oil and ran it about an hour fishing and let it set for a couple of days and it was the same thing only not as thick and was just a little over full.

Re: bearing behind lower seal on 08 PD
I have a 08 PD, brought the lower unit to PD for the retrofit kit which puts a seal after the gear box and it helped.
