Post Prop Replacement
New to the mud motor world and I am wondering how much wear you guys allow on props until you change them? I have a go devil 9x7 prop, I know go devil says at 8 inches but what does everyone else think?

I don't know. Buy a new one and use the old one as a spare.

I'd ask others about a 23 prop before I went with a 9x7. It might suck with that engine and a load.

I'd run the 9x6. Coco been doing this for decades and I'm sure he knows what to recommend on his motors.

Has/is anyone running another brand of prop on their Go-Devil other than Go-Devil? If so, how is the performance? Especially backwaters

I prefer Backwater LT props over all others.

Backwater props have definitely impressed me. Usually lose 1-2 mph light loaded, but will push more weight more easily and quite good hole shot.

They are less expensive than godevil but in my experience are thinner. Have seen two break blades and one crack when hitting submersed objects. My buddy has the 27 LS and went with the 35 prop this last time due to it being thicker. Still runs about 20 on his 17' boat.
