Replacing my broken shaft so i decided to replace the seals and lower bushing. I tore the seals out for the most part from inside the lower housing but it seems like a little bit on the outside of them was fused to the housing like they're glued in or melted in. Should I get the residue out or is it ok to just put the new seals in on top of that? Any way to get the shit out? Soak it in gas or something?

Re: Seals stuck inside lower housing gdsd
try some B-12 and a rag first.. if that dont get the junk out use a flat blade screw driver with a piece of fine emory cloth to clean the surface

I soaked the housing in diesel for a few hours which softened up the seals and then I sharpened a flat head screw driver and used that to dig them out. There was quite a lot more rubber in there than I thought.
