prop sizing question ?
Hello guys, I have a 6.5 hp surface drive that i built on a 1232. It seem to run well with the current prop 10 x 6. I am running a 1.5 to 1 gear ratio prop rpm is in the 2600 to 2800 range and it gps'ed at 11.8 mph. That was with me (200 lb) dog (80 lb) and 3 doz decoys plus other misc gear. I put this prop on with no previous knowledge of how to size a prop. I was wondering whether or not i was losing any top end speed with the prop i chose or if another size could suit me better at $160 a pop there a little expensive to just buy blindley. Thanks in advance for any help or advice

Re: prop sizing question ?
With that load and motor combo you ain't gonna gain anything with a different prop.
