Looking to put a new prop on my 16hp briggs longtail on a light 14x42 usually carrying 2 people. I know everybody says 8x4 and a 9x3, just looking for input before i buy one. Thanks

Re: 16 hp prop on light rig
I have a go-devil 9x3 on my 15 hp go devil on a 14x44 flat bottom & it works great with 2 people & some fishing gear.

Re: 16 hp prop on light rig
I've run everything from 8x5 to 9x6 and I find that my 16 runs best on average with a 9x4. 19 mph with me and the dog, 16 with me, the dog and another person, and 13-14 with that same load plus hunting gear. My boat is really light though.

Re: 16 hp prop on light rig
I guess I should add that I had a baffle break loose a while back so I gutted that stock exhaust and that's what I run. Honestly I don't think it makes hardly any difference as far as performance is concerned. But it's worth mentioning.
