Got a question for you guys running smaller size sd's. I am building my first surface drive and need to know the measurment from the back of the belt housing to the center of the prop. I know there is probably alot of difference based on brand but the more info i can get the better. |

My son really likes his 40" shaft on his MB 7000, further prop is back of boat it will get better bite in less aerated water. Older MBs had 48" shafts on their Hyperdrives, I had a 2005, wished MB still offered a 48". |

Wow 40" is a lot longer than I expected. Do you have any idea what it would be on a mb mini? Or a copperhead? Copperhead would be similar to what I'm building. |

Its a 16 hp duromax I bought on ebay. I built a longtail using it then just recently sold the frame so I could build a sd. I figure I will use this motor for now and eventually buy a 22/23hp honda or vangaurd. |

The GoDevils come with a 36" drive, works well in many types of conditions. |

I'm not sure exactly how that's measured since the belt housing doesn't just stop where the belt and pullies are, there's a CV joint at the bottom also. This allows the engine and belt to run on a flat plane and the angle of the drive occur at the bottom. |

I researched it a while back and was told outdrives were measured from center of the pulley to center of prop. I built a 30" for my build and looked pretty proportionate |

Kinda. I ended up not finishing it because other projects starting piling up around the house. And I started trying to do some side jobs. Here's the link. viewtopic.php?t=59919 Plus I sold my long tail rig and missed a couple hunts because my buddy's merc didn't crank at the ramp so my wife said we need another boat. |
