Currently running a GT 11 pitch on one of Jay's 16.5x46 Instagator hulls.

Solo, it runs 31.7 with full fuel, battery, cooler, and a sack of 3 dozen decoys for a little added test weight--- normal load at 4250. Still runs over 30.5 solo with six dozen decoys, 35 Engel cooler, blind material (8 rolls of fastgrass), and all hunting gear.

2 guys/guns, one of the guys being 280lbs and same gear above,, it runs 28.5 at about 4100.

All in all the 11-pitch 3-blade runs great with the exception of some solid tiller torque when trimmed out and wide open unless the load is balanced just right. I generally cruise at 3600-3700 Rpms and 27-28mph. 11p gets me out of the hole pretty well too. I couldn't be more pleased with how the boat planes or runs or carries a load.

Problem is the three blade 11-pitch doesn't impress me much in really thick vegetation, particularly in reverse and I'm interested in a 2-blade but GT doesn't make an 11p two blade. I'm not familiar with GT's "new" 10.5 pitch which is supposedly made to compete with the Hammer from MB, or any of MB's props. Give me some suggestions. I don't need a big load carrying prop; my boat is .100 and pretty light. I just need a prop that will go through very heavy grass and reverses well in grass. No mud here in FL.

When i changed from the 3 blade to the 2 the performance in grass was much better IMO. I probably don't I have the "new" 2 blade your talking about but the "old" 2 blade was much better in grass if thats what your looking for.

Get yourself a standard GT 2-blade.

It's a 10 pitch and is the best prop for running in vegetation and mud, and under a load.

Keep the 11P 3-blade for when youre running solo deepwater.

Thank me later.

I could probably order one and get it polished locally. Do you really think it makes a difference?

Any opinions on the GT 2 blade compared to a Big Blade from Mudbuddy?

A polished prop will be a little quicker.

The MB big blade is a little bigger than the GT 2-blade.

When I tested them side by side the GT prop was a little faster.

Tried the Big Blade today and was very impressed. Big and heavy. Should last longer than GT prop. Boat was just as fast as GT prop.

I took my stock GT prop and Pitched it for a 12x10 to 12x11 and I gained on top end a lot.

Finally found a new, "old style" GT 2-blade. Going to run it and see if I need to pitch it up a little bit, and polish/balance it.
