Was cleaning my motor today and notice an opening on the out drive (beside the dipstick). I've never noticed if and am concerned a plug has fallen out? Any advice. 06 mud buddy hd 23hp

It's usually a 90 degree fitting, pointing downwards, to vent the heat. There should be a hose on the other side running up to the engine housing for the fan to shove air into the belt housing. Cools the belt and clutch a little with the air exchange

It's not special. Just need something so water doesn't get in there, and air can still flow out freely.

Russ is correct it's a pvc plumbing 90 believe it would be either 3/4 or 1 inch. The name should be on the fitting, believe spear.

Db, you are right I looked at it after I posted that. I just remember spear making plumbing connectors, they obviously make electrical aswell. Thanks for clearing that up
