Why do some GTs not have the reverse plate? Is it something that isn't needed and has been removed? What are pros/cons if any of removing it. Just curious because I've run across some without it. Also mine is solid and I notice some have openings. Is there any benefit with this.

The old machined model lower units the reverse plate was an extra option, which is why some have it as some don't was a 150 extra in 2013 when I ordered my gtr, if I recall correctly. The newer units are cast and the reverse plate is part of the cast.

The reverse plate wasn't always standard.

The solid piece is much stronger.

It helps direct the prop wash under the boat instead of over the transom.

That's not my video. My point was that it really doesn't direct a damn thing under the boat

I have a GoDevil. I've got full power push pole reverse.... It works pretty good too :D

You right it doesn't direct much unless maybe when you pull up on the motor it keeps shit from hitting you in the face which is why I was asking ...but do tell me Tx how well the push pole work in this veg like that video

I does help direct the prop wash down, if u run a GT without and with one u can see the difference.

I like that tilt grab handle on that GTR in the video. I snapped the stock one off a year ago.
