 Re: New Prop
That looks like the new GTR 2 blade (big blade). Its not a fast prop in stock form...
Fyi, mines measured 12.50 x 10p according to the prop shop.

 Re: New Prop
It does measure 12.5 he's not holding the tape tip to tip. But like stated its a little slower it's not made for speed

 Re: New Prop
The prop has good qualities...
It jumps on plane in half the length of the 3 blade, and will step a pretty big load with no issues. Also, it loses very little speed with a load....Fyi,,,I can run 32/33 empty, but with a large load still runs 31+, and does so very smoothly.
I have ran it all season through quite a bit of oysters and you can hardly tell. For a hunting prop, its not bad at all...
Like I said, it can be improved upon if you want more speed out of it.

 Re: New Prop
This new prop is bigger, and rough. Not slick like the other one. That is what slowing me down. 2000 to go faster, 277 to slow me back down. Does anyone know the pitch or the number that was on the gator tail props originally?

 Re: New Prop
What rpm are you getting?
This prop should be easier to turn vs. the 3 blade....You should be turning more RPM!
I can tell you without being worked, (pitch/cup) etc...On the rev limit you will only get 30ish.
Basically, if you ware modded, you will need to tweak the prop a little to see the full benefits. Keep in mind, they have to design props to run on stock engines as they sell them..

 Re: New Prop
How badly worn was your old prop? I'm still thinking you have an engine issue and the new prop is bringing it out with the better grip. Leaking valves?

 Re: New Prop
Jess... mine was a Powertech 12x10. I think dad called Powertech to get me one for Christmas and I think they told him they don't make them anymore.

 Re: New Prop
Will test out the 3 blade with the carb, heads, exhaust this weekend. We know the GTR Big Blade is not much of a performer on either end of the spectrum. Was told a Hammer prop is very similar. I will be getting a MB big blade next. I understand it is the next best thing besides the original powertech.
