 Please explain ?
Hi guys , I am redoing my lower unit on a copperhead 23 and a couple of things I found. I removed the 4 bearings and seal and purchased new ones from bearings drives unlimited and a double lip seal to replace the single lip seal that was there. and for a hefty 90 bucks.. oh well .. so after I removed the bearings I noticed inside the shaft housing what looked like another bearing and what looks like 3 brass washers but no way to remove them and looks like they were put in at the flange that mounts to belts and the flange welded in place with no way to access them.. question 2 the sealed stainless bearings had dust cover removed on one half I see the reasoning but when I bought bearings the guy said they should not have to be greased. . So why do we grease if sealed bearings don't need to be like sealed wheel bearing that can go thousands of miles and never have a problem .. thanks guys

 Re: Please explain ?
So I can leave seals on the sealed bearings and put grease around them but not to much to impede the seal

 Re: Please explain ?
Call copperhead I just re read what you wrote and if the bearings had the grease seal removed on one side that is so they can be greased but I would make sure by calling and checking with copperhead
