Post subject:  GTR 37 EFI props

I'm running a stock GTR 3 blade on a 16x50 custom hull. Before I was running a 2 blade from gtr and had great pickup and loaded down ran pretty good. After splitting my shaft, GTR replaced the two blade with a 3 blade because they claimed thats all they use now im guessing because of the issues with shafts breaking. But this 3 blade doesn't carry a load worth a damn and doesn't impress me much. Any ideas on props or what i could do to take care of this?

Call mud buddy and get a big blade. It will work fine. I tried a 3 blade on mine and I didn't care for it. I've been running a MB hammer and a gt 2 blade.

[WHITE UP POINTING INDEX]x100

Had my 3 blade worked and polished . It is an entirely different prop now. Zero Tiller torque, nice hole shot, and great top end.

I'm getting close to having to replace my prop and I can't decide if I want a two or three blade. I have a 1854 with a stock 37HDR. What would be the best prop to get up on plane with a good sized load? I'm not as worried about top end speed but would like to stay over 21 with three men in the boat like I can now with my three blade. Thanks

im thinking big blade or get it worked. I'm just worried about trying the big blade because I've heard theyve been having issues with the new cast aluminum foot messing up shafts with a different prop. I have a brand new 3 blade prop I keep as a spare, I'll either trade it or get it worked. How much does it generally cost to get them worked? and what are some good places to bring it? I'm in lower lafourche parish way down here.

The cast lower is a potential issue for an out of balance prop. The big blade is the most consistent out of your options on balance, and shouldn't cause an issue. Getting a prop balanced is definitely a good idea regardless.

My new 3 blade was $100 at Precision Propeller in Lake Charles. My wore out 2 blade was $125.

Not fast at all, but I was not in any hurry. Mr. Ray is a one man show.
