 Gtr pivot bearings
I'm changing the pivot point bearings in my gtr right now and I've got the top nut off and the engine is connected to a chain host. Should this long bolt just come out or does it have to be a perfect position for the bolt to be able to slid out ?

 Re: Gtr pivot bearings
As much as that motor has been run in the salt water, it will take some convincing to get it out I would think!

 Re: Gtr pivot bearings
If you are talking about the tower bushings, you need to remove the entire frame off the mid section. Remove the machined trim block, and lower pivot block then push the shaft out the bottom for the lowers and then out the top. Once they are in the swivel tube is locked in.
If you are talking about the main pivot from the Steel pivot and aluminum saddle.. That solid aluminum rod gets eaten up from the steel riding on it and can have a groove worn that makes it harder to remove. There is no bearing/bushing in this area.
