Does anyone know if there is a company that makes a big blade prop that will work on the gen 4 PD splined shaft? I got a level 3 DPE kit on my boat and got the PD prop pitched 1" but I'm still banging the rev limiter. I'm even hitting it with 3-4 people in the boat. |

If I can't get a big blade that's what I'm going to do. I'd prefer to put a big blade though since I've got more than enough power now. |

viewtopic.php?f=41&t=68082 This is about the best help I can give. But, as of now, it is not possible to put a big blade on a prodrive without some modifications. |

That's not what I was getting at. I meant that BlueShamu is trying different things with different props. Maybe get you a burnt up used big blade and see if you can have a prop shop weld the center up and do some mods to make it fit your shaft. THAT'S what I was trying to tell you. |

You can buy it from prodrive. Just have to ask to buy a 2 blade for a gen 3 and im pretty sure the tapered spline is the same on the gen 4 as the gen 3. On the early gen 3s they had straight splines and they were having propshaft shearing issues (mine sheared) so they changed to the tapered splines which I'm pretty sure is the exact same as the gen 4 Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using Tapatalk |

I'm in South La. in Raceland. I actually have someone trying to make me a prop to try out. I took the stock and went to a 13 pitch, but I had some of the edge curls turned down just a tad and I lost a little speed. Hopefully the new prop will work ok. I'm pretty sure I could turn a 14 pitch, but I ride 5-6 people sometimes so I don't think that's a good option. |

You may need a 14 pitch. Jesse t Franklin Small Engines can get you hooked up. And for the person that said put a gen 3 prop, it's way too big on a gen 4 even with a highly modified engine. A 27horse 3 blade is even too much on a gen 4 stage 2 37 |

Right. I'm just south of Baton Rouge. I drove down to Baggys and he took my stock prop, brand new and pitched it +3. Now you need to know that the stock PD prop ranges from 12 to 12 1/2. So by me telling him +3, my stock prop was actually almost 16p. He knew that, but I didn't. My Kawi actually ran it and turned it 4600 rpms. Brought it back and that's when he informed me of the stock pitch. He thought I knew. So he dialed it back to a 14 - 14 1/2 and its lights out. Turns right at 5000, But these Kawi's won't turn the high rpms that the briggs do. But they have tons of torque. If this one gets worn, I'll get another and have it pitched to 14 - 14 1/2. |
