06 Mud Buddy 35 SD clutch issues
Im slowly and surely learning these motors, and I did try searching this symptom and came up with nothing, so maybe you guys can shed some light. So I recently completely replaced the clutch with a new unit(69hrs), and it has run flawlessly since, about 6 hrs(75hrs). Today after running it a while the prop wouldn't disengage, regardless of switch position. I can hear the "ping" of the clutch when I engage and disengage the switch with the motor not running, but if I turn the prop, it turns the motor over. I disconnected wires just in case it was somehow getting continuity when it shouldn't, but it made no difference. All I can think of is that the bearings on the crank seized up. I guess I'm going to have to pull the clutch cover and investigate. Tension is set properly, and it makes no sense why a new set of bearings would be toast, especially with only 6hrs use. Of the six hours run time since replacement, I'm going guess it has run in neutral no more than 20minutes. Any ideas!? Thanks fellas.
