Post subject:  mud buddy longtail lower bearing question

Have a few questions about changing the lower bearing on my Mudbuddy longtail. Does the bearing press into the lower housing like the seals? Also do the rollers in the bearing contact the shaft constantly or does the shaft float inside it? Asking that because looking at roller bearings with 1.5"OD that fit tight in there have a 1" inside diameter and the shaft is 3/4". That is unless they have a custom bearing made just for this drive.

Go to a good bearing house. You can probably get something off of the shelf. My guess is that there is an inner race to take up that slack.

There is a race that the rear bearing rides on.

Ok, good to know because BPS doesn't sell the race online.

Does the race just sit on the shaft, inside of the bearing without anything but the seals on the bearing to hold it in place? It won't run up or down?
