Post HDR lower seal
I was greasing my HDR 37 with 17 hours and never got any grease to come out the bleed screw hole. I pumped 15 or so times with nothing. My question is how do I know my rear seal is shot? Where would I be seeing this grease that is pushing through the seals? Would it be coming out of the belt housing vent? If I need to repair the seal is this a warranty claim on a 6 month old unit or is this on me to fix? I'm going to run it this weekend and plan to address the issues next week. Thanks for the info and or help.

Did I really just read that?

Have you pumped your grease gun to see if grease comes out the end of the hose?

Why'd you change your question about the grease gun working or not?

The sensitivity on an Internet forum gets more entertaining every day.

Oh, btw, grease in the belt housing or grease exiting by the prop means that particular seal is shot. These things are fairly simple. Grease in between seals on both ends of the shaft. Your owners manual should have an image, and the bps website does too.

What happened to that POS grease gun you were using and trying to determine if it was pumping grease out of it or not?

I'm sure I could go through the moderator panel and find your original post....pre-edited...if you would like.

I edited because I feel I didn't explain what is was wanting to know well enough. Any dumb ass would know to see if grease is coming out the end of the gun but that doesn't mean the gun is actually pushing grease in a zero fitting when it's such a tight bend under the cav plate. Don't worry about helping me out I was being lazy and asking for answers but I will fix it myself. I mainly just wanted to know what signs to look for if the belt side seal was shot and I didn't want to take the belt housing apart to look for grease because I didn't know if there was a gasket on it or not. For you maybe I should have stated my question a little more detailed. Have a great day

Update for blue, the grease gun was the issue. After I swapped hoses from another gun I was able to push grease out of the bleed hole. So yes the 10+ year old grease gun is a POS.
