 27GD SD Dies under load. I have a stock SG 27hp Kohler Command SD on a F&F 1544 with pods. 2 people and a cooler it turns about 4100RPM at WOT down river 23MPH tops. (Seems slow to me.) Loaded with 3 Big men a cooler and a chainsaw it drops WAY down to like 3000 RPM and will barely break 10 MPH. It is all stock with the GD 11X12 3 blade that im sure is worn a bunch. Will a prop change or a pulley change help me?

Re: 27GD SD Dies under load. 15x44 with pods and a 27 with three big guys......you should at least be doing 30 mph. Maybe you need a K&N air filter to really open it up some......Call Coco and tell him you want the faster pulleys when you get a new prop.

Re: 27GD SD Dies under load. Check your water/fuel filter for rust. Especially if it's a Sierra.

Re: 27GD SD Dies under load. Have to be trolling, but just in case you arent: no. Prop or pulley change isn't going to fix that. It's a small boat with a lot of weight. That's just about the normal performance with that load on a boat that size.

My 25 subaru will run great with a 2 man load. Throw a 3rd person in the mix and it becomes a slug.
