Ive got a freind running a gen2 pd on a bow fishing rig. Motor is very torquey. From an idle it will spin 4k on a dig but wont bite for shit and has a hard time stepping even trimmed low. Its currently got a new pd 2blade. I was thinking about adding 2 in of cup. What prop work have yall done to get a good bite and How does it work?

How tall is the transom measured on an angle from the bottom to where the motor sits? PD won't tell you and they don't sell boat with it, but it needs to be 18" for maximum bit and get up. They do it so that the lower doesn't swing under the boat. Now mine will reverse under my hull approx. 1/8" and also gives you approx. 1.5 to 2" more trim down to dig. But I'm also running stock PD prop pitched to 15 with gen 2 lower.

I will measure it next time i see the boat. Its normally a good running boat until extra batteries, generator, lights, etc

Modded motor stock prop?

Yes its modded. In the past ive had baggy add 1"pitch and "1 cup with good results but not for one this heavy. That why i was thinking about +2 on cup only. Just looking for to see what has been proven to work on a heavy rig

What mods? My stage 2 kawi with a 15p will still tote an elephant. It may take slightly longer to plane, but will still roll out.

It's a job.... But lowering the motor like banded said will help get a Flatter push. That's one of the biggest issues with the PD. Most guys with mods can sling a pretty big prop due to the 1.5:1 ratio. I know modding and keeping a stock pitch prop yields almost no results as it'll blow out.

Good info and thank yall. I will measure it when i see it again. Its got good heads with with a modded factory carb and a split open intake " feeding each cyl with both barrels" Jetting is on the money. These combos arent for 5k spinners but they have alot of ass end

Worked stock carbs can be ALOT better than most think... Good luck Will
