Just bought a 23 go devil surface druve and noticed after the first several uses water in the top of the lubricator above the grease. Is this normal? |

The lubricator GoDevil uses has to be vented to atmosphere to work properly. As long as the grease under the plunger is clean and in good shape, a little water won't hurt a thing and is normal. I typically pull my lubricator, flush the drive tube with fresh grease, clean the lubricator itself and put it back together, every oil change or so. It's easy and it ensures whatever going into your out drive is clean and dry. |

I asked setx longtail the same question this weekend! I'd go with what he says, although it bothers the heck out of me seeing water in the grease lubricator even if it is not actually mixed with the grease Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Alemite makes a sealed lubricator. It's aluminum and has a nitrogen charge inside it to force the grease out. Only problem is it's you can't see the grease level so you really don't know what you're working with. The clear spring action grease cup we have is annoying with the water and trash on top but as long as everything looks ok underneath the plunger you're fine. Just clean it ocassionally. |

Ah shit, all my godevil motors had a little water in the grease even inside the shaft tube. Never hurt anything that I know of. My last sd and current longtail if I take off the greaser to flush the tube I get about a teaspoon of water and brass shaving from the bushings on the fest few pumps of the grease gun Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Speaking of pressure lubricators.... Where can I get one? Does it need to be from godevil? I just broke mines today |

http://www.partdeal.com/alemite-visi-lu ... oCT87w_wcB Just make sure you run the right spring in it. |

What is the "right" spring? I see there's standard and heavy duty. I'm thinking about tearing my whole outdrive apart and rebuilding it all together for piece of mind. Never got my hand dirty on a GDSD though. |

The outdrives are stupid simple... they're really easy to service top to bottom. Run the lightest spring in that lubricator for our uses or else it may push past the seals. I actually had my whole outdrive off the motor not long ago it was a simple job. It helps having a hand to hang that heavy bastard though when you go back together. |

Two people are plenty. I almost had it by myself but couldn't rope the bolt holes while holding everything else up. |

http://www.partdeal.com/alemite-visi-lu ... aQodgigHVA This looks like it. But it comes with multiple springs. Will just put the standard spring in it. |

https://www.amazon.com/Alemite-B1741-A- ... lubricator Found this on amazon. How do I know that the fitting will fit on the GDSD? Is it just standard? |

GD uses a 1/8" NPT threaded hole in the drive tube. I'd personally get the lightest spring you can. I think it's something like 2psi |
