I have 25hp prodrive. I'm curious to know if changing prop will help with heavier loads and getting on top of water faster. Problem is I can't seem to find anyone who makes an aftermarket prop for this motor. Any help is appreciated. |

I hear ya. I was just curious because ive been reading on all these different props that say they improve hole shots and other areas as well. I wasn't able to find anything specifically designed for my motor and I'm a rookie when it comes to mechanics so I was unsure of what to do. thanks for your info. |

Is your shaft threaded or splined? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You have a lot of options. Standard 2 or 3 blade from PD, Hopkins Cleaver and I think LA Prop has another style similar to the Big Blade....don't quote me on the last one....check with him. |

Or better yet have your prop shaft replaced with one with a hex on it like Gatortail and MudBuddy, then your prop options are expanded. |

ok ill look into all that. thanks for the help. I also saw where backwater performance makes a prop for a 3/4" threaded shaft but not sure how it would work with gear ratio of pd. |

unfortunately I'm not in the financial position to just unload my current motor and replace it with a bigger one. I understand a big block is a lot stronger that's just not an option for me right now. |

Chris at LA Prop put me in touch with the guy. I’ll have to look for his number. Basically I sent him my shaft, he built one and put my gears, bearings, and such on. Jam up guy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Can someone tell me exactly which shaft styles ProDrive has used through the different generations? |

Only thing with doing this is that you need to have a built prop since Prodrive has a lower gear ratio that other manufacturers. I had a stage 2 motor and could bury a worked 3 blade and bounce off the limiter. The big blade that was on it when I sold it was built with a ton of cup. It wasn’t perfect but was manageable. I would think a gen 3 would be tricky to find a prop to work. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You might could spin a stock Big blade. Hard to say since mine was a stage 2 big block. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
