Got a gatortail 2 blade fat blade prop coming in sometime this week. It looks similar to a hammer in size. I'm going to see what it does stock and then get baggy to do his magic on it. Anyone have experience running this prop?

Yeah man, unworked I was able to turn it 30mph at 4500. Once it's worked it will scoot well I'm sure

Just got my worked fat blade back from baggy and ran it today. He worked it to a 10 pitch, added heavy cupping, sharpened the blades, took .25 inches off of each blade, and polished it. Gained 3 mph in shallow water and 5 in deep (yes, for some reason my skiff runs better in deep water). I'm running 32 in shallow and 34-35 in deep. Holeshot is the best ive ever been in hands down and got the boat up to top speed in about 5 seconds. Very happy with it. put my dad In the boat and ran the exact same speeds, so it carries a load very well.

Who is baggy? And how can I get ahold of him? I’m getting a 37efi level 3 and wanting to see what best 2 blade is for it.

868-0103 is his number bro. He owns a prop shop in Houma. Best around. Give him a call and he will point you in the right direction

WHat kind of rooster tail you throwing with this prop?

I got to run a 40 the other day and I threw my baggy 2 blade from my 37 on it. I could get the prop out the water and cavitate it easily and the roost it threw was really really weird compared to other props ive run.

Normally on my 37 I throw a roost strait up and back, but on the 40 it seemed like it was coming off of the opposite side of the prop and shooting out to the side, no matter how I trimmed it.

The weirdest thing was how easy it was to cavitate it, but it made a massive difference over the stock 3 blade.

Hows your prop running so far? are you able to cavitate it easy like this one?

My fat blade throws a lot to the side but the main rooster tail is straight out the back. I run it about 4400-4500 for optimal speeds on my rig. It carries a load like nothing else though imo

Anybody ever have a fat blade cut to 9" diameter? Will be running a modded GTR 25 BB, and have the need for a 9" prop at times. Since I can crank out more hp than stock I'm wondering if using what the 35-37 hp stock rigs would use could give more performance.

Or any other recommendations for a 9" prop turned by more than 25hp?

Call baggy he will know exactly what you need. You won’t be able to turn these props, they are all 12.25x10 and bigger. Baggy would be the man to have cut and cup it though.

Mine really pulled hard away from my hand and I got 23mph on my 1854 Stumpjumper. Backed up pretty good and it got on plane good but it was slow. Running a 40hp Gatortail.

What motor are you running? 12 pitch with cup is perfect for my 40

Got my Fat Blade back from Baggy this week. Took it out today. Went from 23mph to 26 sometimes 27 in deep water. Zero Tiller Torque. It is now as fast as my 3 Blade. Backs up pretty good but the main thing is I don't have to Trim down to take off. I set my Trim wide open and left it there. That thing bit and took off no problem Trimmed up to run. I am happy and wondering if I should send in the 3 Blade.

Took my worked Fat Blade out with a heavy boat last Sunday. My Boat is heavy anyway but I had two people with three big tackle boxes, 14 Jug lines, 10 fishing poles, gallon of stink bait, a gallon water jug, a cooler with ice, gaff, a 20lb anchor, and a full Livewell containing about 10 good eating size catfish. Got 24.5 mph down from 26 just me. I did not think this was bad at all.

That's damn good speeds bro. That fat blade is not a speed prop, but it pushes a load like a beast. It does extremely well in mud and in reverse as well

You know what I really liked was the fact I did not have to trim down to take off.

I agree, that fat blade just eats and pushes a load

Anyone here run the fat blade vs the Hammer (both unworked)? My merc 3 blade worked just won’t carry a load worth a crap. Thinking about getting a hammer.
