Looking for pros an cons on props. Currently running a 35 hp vanguard on a Beavertail longtail with a stock 9x6 prop. Only running just shy of 18 mph and hitting rev limiter and that’s running unloaded.

So I did a little research BPS calls for a 10x5 backwaterinc recommends a 9x8 Ron hill 9x9 but that’s listed for a 27-29hp. What would give me the best speed unloaded but still able to haul a hunt load which would be me and 2 other guys maybe 3 in a pinch with guns and gear?

I recently got a 9x9 Ron hill prop. It looked so tiny I sent it back. Are u hex shaft or threaded?

I would run a 10x6 if your boat is heavier or if the loaded speed is more important. 9x8 Would be my pick. I'm also not crazy about a 10" prop on a 3/4 shaft. They tend to break once in awhile.

I've had good luck in the past going one step less pitch than what the manufacturer recommends and adding just a little cupping. You'll turn more RPM loaded and unloaded and move weight better.
