Post subject: | What prop?? |
So I recently installed a stage 1 kit on my 2013 Gen 3 36 PD. -Boat Dr heads -BPS Q exhaust -Mikuni carb I took it out this weekend for the first time and seems to be running good around 4350 rpm. 23-24 mph with 2 guys (265 ea, 12g gas, odds and ends.) It was mentioned about the prop I was running. Does anyone have a similar setup? If so what prop are you running? I’ve got 62 hours on my motor and running the stock PD prop so far. |

Depends on what you want to do. Do you want top end or do you want holeshot and load carrying ability? If you want top end, a 3 blade merc at an 11 or 12 pitch may be In order. If holeshot and load carrying is your focus with decent top end, a mudbuddy big blade would be great. Start by getting it worked to a 10 (they claim they are 10s from the factory but when you test them they come out to an 8.5), and see from there what you are turning. You may be able to get away with a 10.5 or 11 on the two blade if you can turn that 10 over 4600, because the 11 would bring you to 4300-4400 probably. Baggy in Houma can steer you in the right direction. I have his contact info if you want it, just pm me bro |
