 GTR 37 XD Trim Unit
A couple month ago, my trim started acting up. I bought the gtr new in May 2016. The trim works great when trimming up, but its ridiculously slow when trimming down. Most of the time I have to bump the up trim then hit down trim just to get it to move. I've removed both of the big flat-head caps to see if it was low on fluid but it doesn't look like any of the units I've researched. There is a needle valve under each cap, which I guess serve as a check valve when trimming one way or another. Not sure though. Some fluid did come out when I removed the caps, so it seemed like it was full. Has anyone had this issue? Or has anyone worked on the 37 xd 2016 units before? Again, motor seems to be working fine, it does sound like the motor is spinning a little bit slower when trimming down than it does when trimming up, but not much. I'll try to upload a couple pics of the unit.
