Post subject:  2016 37 XD Trim Unit Issue

Model 2016 GTR 37 XD. A few months back, my trim unit started acting up. It trims up fine, but it trims down super slow. If it sits for a minutes with being trimmed, and I hit the down button, it wont even move. I have to bump the up trim then hit the down trim for it to trim down. Then it's a super slow process going down. Its affecting my maneuverability. Has this happened to anyone or has anyone tried to work on the trim unit? (Add oil) I did take both flat-head screw plugs out to check the oil level and oil came out as soon as it was cracked open. It doesn't really look the same as the ones I've researched. There is a needle valve under each cap which I guess work as a check valve. Not sure though. Ram looks good, unit sounds good for the most part. It sounds like the motor is spinning just a little bit slower on the down trim, but not much. Any ideas?

Update:

Motor can be replaced if only motor goes out. Pump cannot be worked on because the manufacturer does not stock or make spare parts for it. Oil is red ATF. This is a custom made unit for GTR. Manufacturer makes stock strokes of 4", 6", and 8". This unit is custom made for GTR with a 5" stroke. That's the only difference between the stock and the GTR units.
I ended up buying a new one from GTR. 350$ a pop.

I tried to go that route (thru parker) when swapping out the old cmc unit. They shunned me lol. Ended up going thru gt
