Has anyone compared the big blade and hammer props on the HDR 5000? Just curious which one carried a load better and what speeds people are getting with them. I currently have a big blade and can run 4600-4700 rpms with 2-3 people.

Big blade stock should be faster on the top end and hammer should be faster with a load. It all has to do with what you want to accomplish with the prop you run - top end? Load carrying? Hole shot? Etc..

Although I haven't tried a BB on my setup yet, I am running a hammer during hunting season and it's a night and day difference between it and a 3 blade raptor. Hammer gets on plane and hauls a 3 man hunt load with no problem. You won't be the fastest guy in the woods but you never will with a load anyways.

i6/50 GT W 4400 Hdr i have always ran a Hammer, like it cause its beefier and last longer than a BB.i get 29 mph at 4100 rpm,9 gal gas,two batts 1 person.Boys RPM is what kills theese motors,im a reliability kind of guy and like a trouble free hunt.Just me, just sayin. Says Ronbow
