I need to know how to add fluid to a parker trim unit. Last trip out the cap on the rod came loose and it leaked a good bit of fluid out. I have searched on here and at their web site and have only found a instruction manual, but it doesn't show how to add fluid. They say its sealed for life, but if that were the case I wouldn't need to add fluid.

I have taken off the large screws on the front and back but they are for check valves.

The only place I have not found a valve is this hole on the end. It is only about 3/16 and I don't think this is the fill hole. Any suggestions?

Does anyone have a suggestion on what type of fluid? The fluid that leaked out looks like transmission or power steering fluid.

So, why not just take the 5 mins and call gatortail and ask? No one that's read your post has the answer, but I bet gatortail does.

They will tell you only the motor is serviceable the rest isn't.

All their info I found says that, and it also says it's sealed for life but I disagree. If you take the motor off you can add fluid. I used atf.

@jc - based on your picture I'm guessing that the unit needs to be completely removed and the rod extended to add oil there.

It has to be standing up to fill it. The rod needs to be fully retracted or you will overfill it. Mine has been working fine since I add the fluid.
