I've been away from mud boats for a few years, just picked up a 1644 Go Devil with a Briggs 23 long tail (first long tail for me). WIth a new prop, myself (230) full fuel, decoys, guns, 65 lb kid, other crap I'm turning 3650 RPM running about 17 MPH. Not really worried about the speed, the hull is 20 years old (but it seems like a crawl since my last boat had a 40 surface drive). Just wondering if it sounds like I have the correct prop or if I should be looking at something. I'm running a 9x6. |

Sounds pretty close for that hp and boat. #CFFITR #GhostBoat #Whoneedsphysicsihaveamudmotor |

Thanks. I didn't know if that was lugged down or over revved. |

Its lugging a bit at those rpms, but that's just a function of the load and not something I'd be too concerned about propping out of. The speed is fine, and it's a longtail, so I wouldn't try to spin it to the moon. The 9x6 is a good size for that boat and typical load. #CFFITR #GhostBoat #Whoneedsphysicsihaveamudmotor |
