 Curtis lower unit helical gears

Post Curtis lower unit helical gears
Anyone know what the backlash is on curtis lower unit helical gears and if their tolerance is measured in micrograms or thousandths? Travis at pro drive said not too tight but not too loose...motor is a 36hp long shaft pro drive
