ISO MODIFIED SKEG FOR GEN II
I am in search of a modified skeg like the Bayou Boy style he made a while back with the weedcutter.
I have a GEN II Prodrive lower unit so it has to fit that.
Tried contacting him and a few others that might have a used one, but like so many here they have gone dark off the grid
If anyone has one they are not using and don't like;or interested in selling; I'd like to discuss it.

I'm looking for one too. I know someone had a template at some point. If we could get our hands on that, we could get a few made at the same time.

Run it without the cav plate....you'll find a whole other gear in the thick stuff.

Re: ISO MODIFIED SKEG FOR GEN II
Well you can't get too much more specific than that! Thanks Blue for all the detail. Very nice
Last week I just went after it and made my own template based on the stock skeg and cut off from there. I played alot with a template using cardboard so I could get it just right for prop clearance.
I'll post some pics later when I get home and see how they compare.
I did remove my cavitation plate, and I picked up the weed cutter from Prodrive.
I have enough of 1/4 inch plate that I can make another one later.
I went run this Saturday and Sunday. Because of the high water and places I usually run don't have grass right now, I didn't get a good shallow water test.
As far as open running it feels great. Instead of using the Prodrive torque tab I made two cuts and bent my skeg in the back close to the prop where the torque tab would usually go. It feels great.
Pics to come when I get home.
Good look to anyone looking for materials ans supplies of any kind. I did find some aluminum in Belle River but I really had to call around and beg. Alot of people are holding on to everything. The supply chain on lots of things is drying up.

Re: ISO MODIFIED SKEG FOR GEN II
Here is my skeg I made last week. Without having any specs I just measured and I am 1/8 longer than Blue Shamu’s throughout and then it changes at the top because I have a short shank transom.
Once this water goes down I’ll get to test it in the weeds and mud.
It’s pretty close to BayouBoys just going from his pics and I had checked out blue shamus’ pics as well.
If it doesn’t perform like I want I’ll fix it.
So far the way I made my torque tab and the little bit running I did there is no push or pull in the tiller
