New to me gen 1 PD question
It's probably been a while since any of you have owned a gen 1 pro drive but do you guys remember when you fill the lower unit is oil supposed to come out of the upper or lower plug on the power housing? My motor is a tall transom 27hp FPR.
Manual doesn't say much about greasing this thing so if anyone has some tips I'd appreciate it.

Re: New to me gen 1 PD question
if i remember right it comes out of the hole in the middle of the knuckle, or the next hole up if there is no hole in the middle of the knuckle.
i do know that if u call prodrive and ask, they will be able to tell you the correct answer. 337-229-0034
good luck!

Re: New to me gen 1 PD question
Thanks. It's my first pro drive. Got a good deal on it. Has less then 100hours on it and it's a 2003. They said for me to replace the lower I'd be looking at 1600 plus a prop that fits a hex shaft
Sold my mud buddy/gatortrax a few years ago and after running a small long tail for a couple years I couldn't stand not having neutral or reverse!

Here's a pic. Can see both plugs.

I dont believe oil is supposed to go into the tower housing. Grease goes there. Oil goes into the knuckle itself. There should be an upper and lower screw. Drain from the lower and fill from upper. When oil comes out of upper screw hole, you're good to go

yup, i think i got it. the upper plug had a smaller plug behind it where the oil made its way to when i refilled it. i think now after refilling it, the upper seal is bad. it has a very slow leak at the collar where the upper part of the skeg attaches too.
