Had to change the seals and figured I’d go ahead and replace everything while I was there.

Literally a nightmare. Nothing online I have found shows you how to rebuild and replace the entire LU, just how to change the seals. No helpful videos or pictures or even a diagram to show you how the parts go. Grease everywhere and patience is out the window for the night.

Contacting GT tomorrow, but is there anyway to buy the entire shaft and components put together? I would literally give my left nut at the moment lol

I’m a fan of getting it done professionally. It doesn’t cost all that much and they do it right.

Some of us are the resident professionals. I have a 1 of 1 GTRxd40 in Ontario. There are no professionals here but me and a few technically savvy friends to make this thing work when it has issues.

I’d actually really like to see a lot of GTR “how to videos” for seals etc…

Im in the same boat. My closest Gatortail Dealer is 2 states away so I needed to do it myself. I think I've got everything back how its supposed to go but frustration was high.

I agree, it would be much easier if GTR made a couple of those "How-to" videos. Or at least a diagram how the stuff is supposed to fit back together.

With the proper tools they are not bad, BUT without them tools its a PITA. the new models have the race and wear sleeve press fit onto the shaft now so its even harder for the average guy with a small 300 piece tool kit. THe thing is you have to know when its time vs money and when to call a professional.
