Anyone in the Conroe area that would be interested in an evening/night ride? Outboards are welcome also.

It's already full of teal on the north end. Theres a permanent blind back behind the tree line on the nw side that a tiny slough leads to. 1 shot would have killed atleast 10 teal because they were packed in there so tight. Thanks SETx, we will.

Yes there's a few birds around the north end. I'm not trying to piss on anyone's parade but riding around and constantly getting birds up and putting pressure on them isn't a good practice this time of year. They're here right now but I'd be willing to be they'll be gone by the time season opens. I know weather has a lot to do with their movement but they will leave when they otherwise wouldn't if they feel like they're being pressured where theyre at.

I go up there and ride a lot too. I fish that water a lot and I know that water and territory well. But come August I am more careful about where I go and don't go. I wish others would be aware and mindful of this as well. We don't have the hundreds of square miles of marsh and places for those birds to get like other places do. It doesn't take much to clear the whole place out.

I got up a couple groups while bass fishing and then came back to the very North end in my duck boat and the blue wings were everywhere!

Check out the area off of stubble field road near lake paula... The teal are thicker than fruit flies on a rotten banana! Screenshot_2015-08-16-13-13-44.png

4 posts ago it was "full of teal on the north end"

That's fine, stay out of the gator pit. Less of you is more for me.

I'll get out of your thread, yall have fun on Conroe, be safe out there.

Just curious, what kind of boat do you drive? Id like to introduce myself if I happen to bump into you you while I duck hunt my gator pit. I'm not so bad in person. ;)

Oh ive got an old beat up sea ark... How about we meet at the bar pit, i live right down the road,? Then it wouldn't be a suprise or coincidence when we "bump" into one another.

It's no secret what I'm in... It's right there in my signature. If you live right there then I'm sure I'll see you around. I don't usually put in there but I've been known to from time to time depending on what I'm doing.. See you around.

The teal will more than likely be here by then. They usually arive on the full moon leading up to season, which happens to be that weekend.. I wouldn't do a ride past the one were doing Sunday.

That's the Point SETxlontail is trying to make. He should try a run after duck season

Post subject:  Re: August 29th Lake Conroe ride

So basically, they are vampire teal and only come out at night on a full moon, and the best time to ride around and scout for ducks is after duck season

Post subject:  Re: August 29th Lake Conroe ride

Lol putting on A ride and scouting is 2 different things. Lol so you think if you do a ride a night ducks will just sleep right through the loud ass mud motors ? The point was why don't you wait till after duck season. Most people would prolly be more then up for it.
