Benefit Poker Run Atchafalaya Basin July 23rd 2016 Time : registration at 6am start at 7:30, registration will end when the last boat leaves the launch Myette Point boat launch Each participant is $25 can have multiple participants per boat Players can buy an additional card to replace an existing card for a $10 donation (will not go towards pot) 50/50 payout for best hand Awards for worst hand and best looking boat Raffle Items will be bucket raffle format We are going to do an early bird drawing for people who pre-register and bay before July 1st the registration forms and info is posted on our website We are looking for sponsors to help offset the cost of the event. Sponsors Uncle J Custom Boats Delta Performance Engines Atchafalaya Outdoor Designs Tim's A/C Tuten Title and Escrow Check out www.acadianayhec.com for all the info about our club. Poker run map.jpg Here are the rules for the run 2016 Atchafalaya Basin Poker Run General Rules 1. Event will begin and end at the Myette Point Boat Launch. W Atchafalaya Basin Spillway Levee Franklin, LA 70538 2. Pre-registrations are preferred. 3. “Walk in” Registration will open at 6:00am at Myette Point Boat Launch on event day and close upon departure of final registered boat. Cash or Checks only. No credit/debit cards will be accepted at this event. 4. All persons are registered in this event with the understanding that they have intentions of participating. No refund will be made on registrations. 5. Departure begins in a single file at 7:30 am from Myette Point Boat Launch. No shotgun starts. 6. All Participants must obey all Louisiana Boating Safety Standards Regulations 7. Any person displaying poor unethical sportsmanship at any time during the event may be disqualified by an assigned Event Committee Officials. 8. Anyone disqualified for breaking any of the event rules or being part of any party trying to break any event rules will be barred from the event and are disqualified for all prizes and awards. 9. All of the above rules are based on the honor system. Any complaints must be in written form, signed, and directed to the event directors within 15 minutes of arriving at final stop . 10. Event is scheduled rain or shine, if severe weather conditions prevail, the event committee shall decide within 24 hours of the event if it will take place or be postponed to another date. Poker Rules 1. 50 percent of registration fees will be designated for 1st place cash payout to the best poker hand. Hands are (listed from highest to lowest) : Straight Flush, Four of a Kind, Full House, Flush, Straight, Three of a Kind, Two Pair, One Pair, High card (No Pair) 2. One card will be drawn at each of the 5 designated stops. Only paid participants will draw cards. 3. No duplicate cards can be used. Participants must draw an additional card if an identical card is drawn. 4. Participants may draw an additional card at the finish for a $10 donation. (does not accumulate in pot payout) 5. In case of a tie, there will be a draw for High Card to determine the winner. 6. Winners will be announced upon the return of all boats to the original launch location and a winner is determined 7. THE DECISION OF THE EVENT OFFICIALS SHALL BE FINAL. 8. ALL AWARDS NOT CLAIMED AT THE EVENT must be picked up by July 30, 2016 or be forfeited. Call AJ Verret at 337-579-0323 to claim prizes. It is expressly understood that all participants in the Atchafalaya Basin Poker Run enter at their own risk, and that the Acadiana Youth Hunter Education Club, Inc., Sponsors of the Atchafalaya Basin Poker Run, and all persons connected directly or indirectly with the operation of said event shall be exempt from any liability for libel, slander, loss, damage, negligence, harm, injury or death suffered by any participants which may occur during or in connection with the event. We do 20$ a boat with ours with around 45 to 50 boats participating, paying to the first 3 winning hands. Then we do a raffle with donated items after the run. And usually the poker winners are "encouraged" to buy plenty of raffle tix with their winnings. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk |

What type of hotel accommodation are near the launch and how safe is leaving a boat at them. I'm interested in riding a new area but with it being such an early ride and long ride hotel for nigh before and night of seems like it would be mandatory for us out of towers. After mapping the routes last week it came out to be 52 - 58 miles round trip depending on the routes you take. We ran with a 37efi and burned 6 gal of fuel and with a 35 with mikuni and burned about 8 gal. i have updated with the current sponsors and hope to get more, there will be food and drinks sold at the event, as well as raffles and door prizes. We can uses as may sponsors as we can get so if you know anyone that would be interested in sponsoring just let me know, i will post the rules up in the original post as well |

Not if you document who gets what card at each stop. Lotta work though. If it were just me I'd make each person in the boat pay to play. And just take best hand of each boat and they can split the money It's simple. get a mud motor. shoot ducks in the face. |
