If I still had the ducks like I did 6 years ago I'd be glad to trade you for a cast and blast weekend down here but things are not nearly like they were.

Where at in iowa an how early does the season open? I am headed to Iowa in November to visit family and would love to go on a good goose hunt. I could swap u a hunt down here in louisiana on famous cathoula lake. I cant promise we will kill a lot of mallards but pintail and canvas backs aint a problem.

I don't know where in Iowa you're located or how far (in this case, maybe close) you're looking to go, but I can offer up a hunt on the Mississippi from my boat (Phowler 1760 36 pd). That is if you don't hunt the river on your own already. Would love to get into some good field hunting for goose. All the fields around here are locked down by owners/other hunters. Getting permission is like pulling teeth.

I usually hunt Pool 12 for puddlers in the early season and Pool 13 for divers and late season mallards. Last year I hunted mostly on the IL side, since that's where my resident license is (and also most of the divers). This year, I will most likely buy an Iowa license so I can try that 4 day early season.

I also hunt the Horicon Marsh up in WI, which is a great experience if you've never been. It's one of the largest freshwater cattail marshes in the country. Good hunting as well.
