I think just by looking at when I was on the water she had a Digital SLR with a nice zoom lens... I'd say base price camera 800 + accessories. I am looking at one and luckily all my lens will fit on the DSLR that I'm looking at so I won't have an added expense by purchasing 3 different lens'. I haven't priced them in awhile I keep using my Cannon Elph but its almost died on me now... |

The camera is a Canon T2 18 mega pixel with video. Was a little over a grand. The lense she was using is a 70-300mm IS and was about 700.00. All local pricing so it may be a little cheaper on line. Bought her the lens the day before Caddo and she is still learning how to use it all. Got her the camera a month or so ago. It should keep her happy for a little while. Lol |

Thanks Ya'll. The camera was the best anniversary gift ever. <My husband rocks> I'm still figuring the thing out... and the lens was so new to me. literally didn't play with it until Friday evening... Hopefully will have more skills by the LA Run. <really need a polarizing filter, but after all he's bought for me, including hard & soft camera cases, I best not press my luck  >  Had a blast at the run... and enjoyed seeing everyone... and meeting others. <and missed some of the south LA folks that didn't make it up>
