Post New Boat - Phowler Prowler Extreme 1744/23 hp Dixie SD
MM Brand: Dixie
Horsepower: 23
Boat Brand: Phowler
Boat Size: 1744 Prowler Extreme
Boat Layout: Open floor, 12' X 44" Cockpit

Speeds | Shallow Water: N/A as of now
Speeds | Deep Water: 23 mph steady
Total Boat Load With Gear Etc: Two men (420 Lbs), 70 LB Lab, 4-Doz decoys, Guns, Bags, 6-gallons of gas, 3/4" EMT scissor style blind, miscellaneous gear.
Conditions Tested In: Mid 70's and calm

Comments: Only 4-hours on the motor but so far so good. Opted for power trim but no clutch. After several conversations with Mike at Dixie I felt fairly confident that he addressed the common issues that were being experienced under the previous ownership.

Took a few runs to get the weight distribution and trim tabs set up as well as dialing in the WOT rpm's on the Dixie. Not sure what you guy's think, but I'm pretty happy with 23 mph under a full hunting load. In my humble opinion, the Prowler hull is fantastic. Plenty of room for two hunters and a dog and the stability just continues to impress. Slides a little at full throttle but turns on a dime if I slow up just a bit. Overall I'm very happy so far.

Nice rig! Thanks for the review.

Wait a minute.... Is there such a thing as a pretty mud boat?! Someone please start a new thread and post a photo of a mud boat that isn't ugly. I've got to see that!

Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder/whiskyholder and that's a fine looking rig.
