Post Texas Mud Motor - Will Carter - 2012 GTR on Brother 1848
Had to give Will Carter at Texas Mud Motor (Gladewater, TX) a huge shoutout for his work on my 2012 Brother boat w/GTR 35. I cracked the motor case last duck season, along with a number of other small issues that needed tending to. Will got me in quick and did a thorough look over the motor.

Will blew my expectations out of the water. He doesn't "half-ass" anything. He made strong recommendations for my goals for the boat were and what he thought would give me the strongest motor with the most longevity. He knows his stuff! Will went above and beyond to do a complete diagnostic on the entire motor, not just the cracked case etc. His service is reasonable and you get far more than what you "pay for" with Texas Mud Motors. I delivered my boat with oil all over the motor and it was a mess - I picked the boat up clean and neat. Will even did a quick paint job on the new short block so it wouldn't stick out like a sore thumb once installed.

Will installed a new short block, 310 billet cam, valve job, pushrods, and serviced the lower unit with new seals and pads. He really took my boat to the next level

I haven't had ample time to fully test the new build but with a few short hours on the water I can already feel what an awesome job Will did. I highly recommend him if you are nearby. I drove from OKC to use him and I wouldn't hesitate to do it again! I will do my best to update this review with accurate water speeds etc once I have everything seated and tuned after the initial test runs! That being said, speed is nothing if you have an unreliable motor and Will definitely has the right goals in mind.

Thanks again Will, and many blessing to you and your family! Until next time... :D

Brice, don't be a dick.. you know not every boat is setup to be a speed boat. Slim it was good to meet sir. I get to meet some neat folks in this MM world. 95% good people, and then there is Bryce  I guarantee your new motor will outrun your previously built motor. Thank you for the work. If you need anything just holler

Didn't realize this had been responded to and I wasn't doing this right. I don't get on here enough :) Thank you Will for the backup, can't get under my skin anyway!

I've put 20 hours on the motor - I know, I work too much...I hit 33/34 all day long by myself. I ran it in light chop and rivers last week. Ran 31/32 with 2 men, lab, yeti 65 and full 10 gal gas...I don't see any concern running high 20's with a full hunt load. Will is right, I could care less about speed - but it is a nice byproduct. I want to run a load and have a reliable rig to get to the birds. This rig is definitely that...

Will post final numbers when I run a load this weekend chasing the birds.
